The Gypsy Cobs of Surrey Springs
Stallions and Colts
Surrey Springs Armani
Armani's sire is The Chocolater (imp UK & USA) and his dam is The Black Teddy Mare. We have kept him as a potential future sire as we know that the bloodlines of The Teddy Mare have produced some top class Cobs. He will have his first babies on the ground this coming spring from Domino and Joy.
Tom of Brackenhill
Imported from the UK in 2005, "Rom Tom" was our first Gypsy Cob stallion. He played a pivotal role in the establishment of not only our stud but the breed itself in Australia. For the thousands of people in this country who met Tom at the many shows and expos we took him to, he and Tia were the first Gypsy Cobs they had ever seen or touched.
'Mares and Fillies'
Tia
Tia (her name means princess but she's in reality the Queen of Surrey Springs) was imported with Tom in 2005. She was our first mare. Bred in Hartlepoole, England by Andrew Moffat. Tia is out of a mare known as Bones originally purchased by Tia's breeder from Gykes. Tia is a larger Gypsy Cob mare measuring just over 15 hands.
Brackenhill Domino
Domino was imported in 2006 along with Kesali, Danni Showers' Storm of Brackenhill and Geraldine Chapman's Jango Dancer of Brackenhill. Both Domino and Jango were bred by Ian Chapman their sire being known as The IC Stallion. Domino's dam was a splashy marked chestnut and white mare.
